BIG TIME money maker at Publix 1/30

So the new Green Advantage flyer started yesterday 1/29. So last night I ran to Publix to get some money maker deals before they were all gone, but I was too late. I did find a few things that gave me about + $4.00. So I bought a can of chili, 1/2 gal of milk, and some corn chips all for just $86. Here's how it went:

(2) Vivarin (caffeine pills)
sale: $3.19
used: $2/1 IP (go here, click savings, and fill out info to print)
used: $5/2 from Publix green ad
total: + $2.62

(2) Alka Seltzer
sale: $3.39
used: $2/1 from 1/2 SS
used: $5/2 from Publix green ad
total: + 2.22

(1) 1/2 gallon milk
total: $2.49 (yes, outrageous, but is was free, and it was 1 of 2 things that was on our list)

(1) bag of Santitas
total: $2.00

(1) can of chili
total: $1.25 (yes, there are Qs out there for this but I only needed 1 can and didn't have the Q with me)

SPENT: $0.86
SAVED: $18.54

But today...
I went to a different Publix (1 I never shop at) with hopes that they would have the meds I needed to make some moolah, and they did!!! Here's how it went:

 (4) Aleve
sale: $2.99 (which I was not aware of until checkout, so it WAS a small money maker (MM)...about + $0.50 per box)
used: $1/1 peelies
used: $5/2 from Publix Green Ad. flyer
total: + $2.04

(4) Alka Seltzer
sale: $3.39
used: $2/1 from 1/2 SS
used: $5/2 from Publix Green Ad. flyer
total: + $4.44

(4) Sominex
sale: $3.19
used: $2/1 (go here, click on savings, and fill out form to print)

(2) Vivarin
sale: $3.19
used: $2/1 (go here, click on savings, and fill out form to print)
used: $5/2 from Publix Green Ad. flyer
total: + $2.62

NOTE: Everything so far has "made me money" to use on other items in my cart (about $15.00 this time). If you buy MM (money maker) items, they WILL NOT give you money back. You have to use the profit to purchase other items in the same transaction. MM occur when the value of the coupons (Qs) you use, exceed the price of the purchased item.

Here is what I bought to "absorb" my overage:

(1) broccoli

free mustard, makeup, mouth wash, & cough drops !!!

There are so many deals that I've picked up in the last few days, and I don't know if I'll be able to get pics, etc of them to post, so I am just going to tell you how to score the deals I have scored!

Walgreens
Rumor has it (from Wild for Wags) that there is a great deal on Almay makeup. Some stores have clearanced Almay down to $3.99. There was a $2/1 MQ in the 1/23 SS. If you buy 2 of these and use 2 MQs, they will each be $1.99. As good as that sounds, the deal gets better. It seems that there is a Register Reward deal (unwritten) when you buy 2 of these Almay products. My sources say that the RRs definitely work when you purchase the Pure Blends mascara and eye shadow. So if you buy 2 eye shadows @ $3.99 a piece and use 2 Qs, you will pay $4 oop and get back $7 RRs! How awesome is that?!?!?! If you have RRs that you need to use (like I do =) then they will be free and you will leave with money! I'm headed here on my way home tomorrow, and I'll let you know what I find.

Target
Again rumor has it (from Totally Target) that some Target stores have French's spicy mustard is on price cut for $1 (and of course I JUST bought this at Walmart on Sunday night for $0.96). Here are 2 ways to get free (or almost free mustard). There was a $1/1 MQ in my 11/7 SS and a $.75/1 MQ in my 1/23 SS. Using the $1/1, you would get FREE mustard. If you only have the $.75/1 Q, you can still snag some for $0.25. My husband uses this everyday on his sandwiches. I'm going to try my Target tomorrow (which is not a Super Target but really does have a large grocery section), and I'll let you know what I find.

I also got some FREE mascara last night. Here's how:
print a $2/1 Rimmel product TQ here
then print a $1/1 MQ here
They have mascara priced at $2.99 at my store. So I paid $0.14 and got 2 mascaras (and if I would EVER REMEMBER to take in a green shopping bad to Target, I could've gotten $0.05 off and only paid $.09). Oh well, I guess $0.14 isn't such a bad deal =) Thanks Totally Target for this deal too!

Publix
Halls cough drops are bogo @ $1.99 this week (thru Wednesday). Here's what you need to get them for FREE:
 $1/2 MQ from 1/2 SS
$.50/1 TQ (here)
Use 1 MQ and 2 TQ and get 2 bags free! I snagged 4 this weekend and there were still tons left at the Mt. Dora store =) Thanks True Couponing for doing all the legwork!

CVS
CVS usually has a few FREE (after ECBs) items each week. I had $4 ECBs to get rid of this week so I snagged my hubby some Crest Pro-health rinse. It is priced @ $3.99 and you get back $3.99 in ECBs. There is a Q out there in a PG sampler (which I did not have), but I still managed to get some for free! I read some where that someone had tried the deal again, and it seemed to give ECBs again (even though it says limit 1). So I thought I'd try to get another bottle today, and it worked! So I spent $0.27 and left with $4 ECBs more! We also did the Coke deal (buy 5 12-packs for $15 and earn $5 ECBs). That's a good deal even without the ECBs, but that just sweetened the deal.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Publix Trip 1/10

So I went to Publix hoping to get some more Special K and get $5 in overage to help pay for chicken breasts that are on sale for $1.99/lb. Well, once I got my cart filled with everything (except the chicken) I then learned that both of my stores are out of chicken. So that somewhat ruined my plan. Oh well, I just thought the overage would help to pay for my $0.75 vitamins. Somehow I can up with more overage than I thought. Some of our green bags are losing handles, etc. so I just grabbed 3 more of those. Here's how it went:

(12) Special K cereals
sale: bogo @ $3.99
used: bogo IP
used: $1/2 and $1/3 Special K cereals TQ
total: + $5.00

(6) Sundown Vitamin Cs (100 ct 500 mg)
sale: $4.69
used: $6/2 Green Ad flyer
used: $1/1 (1/2 RP)
total: $0.69 per bottle

(2) Planter's Trail Mix
sale: bogo @ $1.99
used: $1/1 Planter's items (6 oz +) TQ
total: + $0.02

(3) Green bags
total: $0.99

Grand total: $2.31
and that's only because I had to get the bags =) I'm a happy girl!
